DISABLING THE LOW ON DISK SPACE MESSAGE

By Kirill Lozovatsky ·
My computer is always low on disk space but I don't need any more so I don't care, but the reminder to run disk clean up and delete programs is getting annoying. When I saw a Win 9x techmail on the subject I was relieved. However I run Windows ME and so I can't turn off this option the same way. Is there any way to turn it off with Windows ME? If you could tell me I would absolutely love it!

Please do not post answers about how to free up some disk space. The point is ? how to disable this warring message ("Low on Disk Space") in Windows Millennium. Thank you.

This is Windows NT register setting, but it should similar to Windows ME:

By default, Windows NT posts an alert when the amount of free space remaining on your disk falls below 10 percent. With a 9Gig HD, you still have 900Meg available. To alterthis behavior, edit:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services \LanmanServer\Parameters

Add Value DiskSpaceThreshold with a type of REG_DWORD and set it to the percentage of free disk space remaining before an alert is sent. The allowable range is 0 - 99 percent

Hope this help

The folder in which the you say to create a registry key does not exist. The folder "LanmanServer" isn't there. May be it' only for NT. Thank you.
