disaccociation of file application

I have a win 98 machine that was configered to open its jpeg images with netscape but after i uninstalled netscape i am not able to view images because it keeps looking for netscape. I tried to do it from the folder options but in there it says jpegimages are opened by internet explorer. How do I go about getting rid of netscape. Do I have to do regestiry edit? If so what are the steps. Thanks
