Disaster Recovery/Bus Continuity Plans

By drkj143 ·
I've been assigned the job of coordinating our DRP. Are there any outlines, sample project plans, planning questionaires, etc. that I could get that would streamiline or
facilitate the process, rather than reinventing the wheel. We are a R/D
environment and manufacturer of medical equipment for diabetics. Aprox.
1400 emplyoyees.

Thanks

Disaster Recovery/Bus Continuity Plans

One place to start is with the Disaster Recovery Journal magazine. Their website has many useful links. Also depending upon what part of the country you are in there may be a DR user group nearby. If you need to use a hotsite they will be able to assist you in writing the plan. Basically , you have to determine what systems are critical to the business, write the manual procedures to be followed until you have a data canter available again and make sure you are gcapturing all the neded data to reconstruct your environment.

submit a search on Disaster Recovery on the Internet. also look at survive.com, globalcontinuity.com and thebci.org sites for more information.

you may want to purchase software to genereate your plan for you....There are several recommendationson the sites I mentioned.

Mike
