Disaster Recovery Project

By drkj143 ·
I've been assigned the job of coordinating our DRP. Are there any outlines, sample project plans, planning questionaires, etc. that I could get that would streamiline or
facilitate the process, rather than reinventing the wheel. We are a R/D
environment and manufacturer of medical equipment for diabetics. Aprox.
1400 emplyoyees.

Thanks

There are several sites on the net that will help. thebci.org, survive.com, and globalcontinuity.com to name three.

You may also find it useful to purchase a software package to do the job for you.

Thanks for the site info. We are looking at Comdisco and Sunguard for possible software purchases. Have you used either?

Disaster Recovery Project

Hi...

Well, one approach that I have found quite useful is to obtain a few completed DRPs and template DRPs and then work back, thus I would first formulate other companies' DRPs with respect to the company I am consulting then I would work back and this approach gives a very clear idea of the path you need to follow from your current situation to the DRP and what issues you need to consider.

Consurrently, you might get some template questionnaires etc and compare them and their appproaches to the reverse steps you came up with in the previous exercise.

One thing you can consider is to also involve consultants who have such forms and methodologies ready at hand for you to make use of.

Good luck!

The suggestions were what I had in mind, ie. templates or questionnaire examples..there was no direction to a web site or company that I would find such examples
