Here is the situation. We are having a disaster recovery simulation. To meet the customers requirements we have to go to an offsite facility and recover an exchange 5.5 server, a file server and demonstrate results by sending email back and forth and access the files. We are a child domain. So we had someone hundreds of miles from us to create parent domain controller (winroot) while we created a child domain controller (fakedc). They were both global catalogs and dns servers.
Here is the problem …. they are now in an isolated network. They hold all of their fsmo roles. But they cannot see each other via AD. they can ping just fine …. Any ideas??
