Disk boot failure

by maya.salim . Updated 17 years, 5 months ago

Hello,

I need help with my computer. I recently bought a new LG dvd burner (multi dvd rewriter, Model GH22NP20) for my computer. It’s a Pentium 4 2.4 GHz, 1GB RAM, Motherboard is Gigabyte GA 8LD533, HD Seagate Barracude ATA IV 40 GB. I installed my dvd driver, connect it to my computer, set it as slave, as i have a cd rom (sony cdrom model no. CDU5211). They’re both in secondary IDE channel different from the harddisk. But, then I got a disk boot failure message. I’ve changed the master/slave position between the cdrom and the dvd rom and now i couldn’t have both roms working, eventough I’ve set the bios to boot from hdd whenever I attach the cd or dvd rom. Thank you for your help.

Regards,
Maya
