A co-worker got Diskeeper Pro 9. We installed it, tested it, and set the Set/Forget It portion. After a day we went to access the program but it keeps giving the error “Diskeep failed to connect to the service.” Can not access the icon on DESKTOP or via the Computer Management. Gives that error and closes the MMC. Right clicking the icon and slecting “stop services” or even “delay” never helped. Restarting the service did not help. Stopping it not helped. Same error. Uninstalled and reinstalled it. Cleaned registry. Same thing. We have no access to the program.
The eror completely reads as:
Diskeeper failed to connect to service. The service may have stopped. Please see the Event Log for more details.
The service is RUNNING (we have stopped, started, and restarted many times, and of course, rebooting) and there is NOTHING in the event log but start and stop logs.
There is nothing the the Event Logs other than start and stop messages. Nothing else. Nothing about errors.
