Display is blurring, shaking, blue screen boxes on laptop screen

By raichurbabu ·
hello all,
I have a HP laptop pavilion dv2700, which i brought last year.
It worked well till last month. After that started blurring, shaking, displaying full of dots, displaying blue screen squares.

Laptop was getting heat from the day one. I took a laptop cooler and connected - no use.

Updated with latest display driver from HP website - No use.

Restored completely - No use.

Operating system is Windows vista. What could be the problem? Is this the problem with vedio card? is this harware part? do i need to change/install any thing else?
Please suggest me.

Thanks in advance.

Connect it to an external monitor

to see if it is the Video card.

How to troubleshoot and fix laptop video problems

It could be as simple as removing and reconnecting the connectors to the Video and the Display unit.

Mind you this is after you have checked with another Monitor to see if it isn't the Video Card if it is the card the Motherboard will have to be replaced.

Well Start Off with connecting an External Monitor

And see if the problem persists. If it doesn't then you have a problem with your Monitor that needs fixing.

If it does then the problem is with the Video Card.

You should have a NB Cooler like this one but it needs to be fitted prior to problems occurring as once things have broken there is no way back without requiring parts

If you wish you can use HP/s Trouble Shooting Guide available here for this model

If this is a new system you could also check HP's Web Site and see if it has been subject to a Product Recall as well.

The first thing is to check if other parts of laptop work

The first thing is to check if other parts of laptop work. Connect an external monitor through video output. If you get a good picture - your laptop screen is broken. Search for a good online store for your screen replacement. As example, this supplier http://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/HP-Compaq/PAVILION~DV2700~CTO/ has your screen model for $80 plus shipping cost (make sure that your model number is exact). Look at illustrated online guide how to replace LCD screen.
