i have a problem with my NETWORK,there is an ip address that behave to be the dns. it automatically allocate it self as a preferred dns, how do disable it not to be used as dns. how do i find where the computer name of this ip address it?

It is probably your router or server

Do a tracert on the IP address, or just enter the IP into a browser and see what you get.

Can you narrow down where it might be by subnet? Does the IP belong to the normal range of IPs for your network?

Ping -a (ipaddress) will resolve to host name.
