A Windows Domain is only for the group of computers that comprimise your network, for the purpose of security and management. While DNS Domain is a way of orgenizing the computer names of the whole Internet. Windows 2000 Active Direcoty Domains usesDNS to implement the naming part of the windows 2000 domain, and Active Directory is the actual database where all the security settings (not all, but a lot) and objects are located.
