DNS fundamental

hello sir,
Actually i have face problem in name resolution from one of data-card, while m trying to reach a url like "techrepublic.com" sometimes its not get resolved, but after few minutes its worked. May i know the reason behind this ?
And also i want to know how much necessary a private DNS server is, when everything is working fine by google public dns...?

Sometimes if a machine has been in service for a while, the local dns cache (or some of the entries) might become outdated, so when this happens it should be flushed: from an elevated command prompt type: ipconfig /flushdns and hit the enter key.
As for any advantages of using public DNS rather than the one your ISP wants you to use, frankly that is a really broad issue, but don't be surprised if you call tech support due to connectivity issues and they insist that you enforce their configuration before helping you.
