DNS redirection to multiple SMTP servers

by dross007 . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

Is it possible to use DNS server to act as a redirector for multiple SMTP servers. Basically the DNS would have an alias for outbound email. This alias would then check to see which outbound SMTP server was available and send mail to that server. I need this for outbound traffic only. My understanding is that this can be done using DNS. Any ideas or reference points will be appreciated.
