Do 802.11n detect all Wireless Access Points?

I have a laptop with wireless 802.11n but the problem is tha it does not detect a hotspot's wireless router and if normal access points are detected, it takes more than 5 minutes to tell you that "Could not connect etc..."

Maybe the hotspot isn't 802.11n ...

Your laptop can be set to be selective in what it looks for. Unless it is set to seek 802.11a/b/g/n it will only 'find' what it has been set to find.

The length of time it takes to report failure to connect may be due to the number of frequency bands it is searching through (a+b+g+n) or it may be retrying repeatedly before giving up or it may just be a slow wireless system.

Without knowing the exact specification of your laptop it is difficult to be more precise.
