Do I need to Uninstall Works

Hopefully this is a very simple question. I have just purchased a new laptop with Works pre-installed and I wish to replace this with my own copy of MSOffice 2000.

Please can somebody advise me if I should uninstall Works or just install MSOffice? I am asking this as I seem to recall that I once did this and ended up with some missing files that were required.
