Do I set up an INTRANET?….HELP

by infosysguy . Updated 25 years, 7 months ago

I need to use a program written for my buisiness that in turn uses SQL7 and Access data bases. I need to be able to install teh program in branches (accross the us about 5 branches) and it only runs when connected to the data base located in the hamoe office. Every branch has access to a DSL line and ISP, that is all set up. I have been attempting VPN using Programmed Routers but with all of the different ISP’s and other forces it has become a failed effort. I am looking at creating an Intranetfor this purpose so that i do not have to deal with all of the other crap. I have the hardware but what I need to know is how to set up. I use a combination of WINS, DHCP, IIS. Do I need a dedicated server in each branch or can each node sign onto the network through the Internet? If I do need a dedicated server how do I replicate the WINS server? Does DHCP get replicated? I am open to anything at this point, I have to be connected with in a month! any help is greatly appreciated in every way…Steve (InfosysGuy)
