Domain Controller Caching - Lets brain storm.

By str33tp0et ·
Hey guys, Im new to the boards & excited about becoming a part of the community.

My question is as follows:

If I have setup a domain controller with various users, how do I ensure that the users will be able to login with cached settings if the domain controller goes down? Now I know having multiple DCs is good for redundancy, but pretending you only have one, I would think it is important that my users can login in the event of a DC going offline...

anyways... what do you guys thing of this one?

Thanks!

they can log on locally to the workstation but with only 1 DC and it goes down, no one is going to log onto the network.

You have created a user account and as long as it is not a mandatory account your users will be able to log into the computer but wont be able to log into the network.
