    Domain user accounts

    Locked

    by wildegevaar ·

What is the correct way to join a W2k Pro workstation to a NT Server on a domain .Logged on as user on the domain the cad applications pop up with: Please re-install application. When I log on as Administrator the CAD application works fine. Copy the the Admin profile to users profile makes no difference.

You may need to make the user a local admin on the W2K system.

I think the best way is to make that domain user as a member of Local administrator in the computer.
But if you are concern about the user for it might change the domain policy that you are enforcing in the organization, the fix is to look for the folder that is trying to access and create an error. Most of the time is the a file or exe file that is on the program installation folder. Once you find that out Log on as Domain Administrator and change the permission and security setting. You may add the user or a group to have full control on that file/folder and then test the computer.
