DOS 6 Network Drive Mapping

By -pdh ·
I need some help on a really old topic. We have an old DOS 6.22 application, and we need to move it's data off of an old NetWare server over to a Win2k server.

The problem is that I cannot remember how to map a network drive in DOS 6.22. There's no NET command in the DOS director on the machine.

I'm reasonably sure it can be done, since each time a set up a share with a long name on any of our servers, I'm warned that DOS users won't be able to get to it. :-)

Thanks in advance.

Philip

M$ Networking

by JackOfAllTech In reply to DOS 6 Network Drive Mappi ...

You'll have to find a copy of M$ Networking for DOS. Either a standalone produuct or included with W4WG (Windows for Workgroups). I have copies of Windows since 3.0 and DOS since 5.0 but I wish I had kept those darn networking disks!

Check bootdisk.com and, if they don't have anything you can use, email me and I'll see if I can legally gve you a copy of the necessary files.
