DOS driver for USB interface

By computab ·
Is this impossible? Has anyone written a DOS driver for USB? The reason is that the best portable backup is a USB tape drive. When Windows doesn't start, how do you backup 5 GB before formatting the hard drive? Some users still don't backup their data! This problem only occurs for power users, as Windows 95 users would probably only need a 100MB parallel ZIP drive.

Not that I know of. www.usb.org doesn't have anything mentioned.

But by the way they should be backing up regularly and not your frantic emergency backup before fixing there messed up drive. I know you are saying, "yea I know" as to what I just wrote.

Remember the best advice is to backup before disaster. Since what usually happens is that you get the computer to the point of being able to read the backup media to restore, but you have to have the backup done before problems (as I said before)

My suggestion to you is to put the drive in another comptuer as slave and then copy all the files off of it that way to get them going.

These customers only call me when theyve got a problem, otherwise they dont call. Putting 2 HDs in one PC is what Ive been doing, but you cant put 2 HDs in a laptop.
