Well just the obvious here

by OH Smeg In reply to DOUBLE SIDED PHOTO PAPER ...

Check the Pickup Roller to make sure it has not gone hard and clean the printer out so that the Paper Dust that accumulates is removed.

You may also need to check all of the rollers in the unit for the correct softness here and keep the Paper path as straight as possible.

So no Duplexing and things like that should be done with this paper.

Clean and/or replace rubber pickup rollers

by robo_dev In reply to DOUBLE SIDED PHOTO PAPER ...

Most printers, including yours, use a rubber part called the 'pickup roller'.

This part is very sensitive to dirt/oil and wear, such that more challenging materials, such as double sided glossy, do not get picked up.

I would first try cleaning the pickup roller with some isopropyl alcohol and see if that improves the grip any. If the printer is more than a year old, or has been in high heat or direct sun, then the pickup roller may need to be replaced. Not sure how difficult that is on that particular unit.

Thanks a lot for replying,I was afraid it might be the case, chances are it will be cheaper to replace the whole unit, seems a shame as apart from this it works perfectly.

Maybe you could just get a printer

by OH Smeg In reply to DOUBLE SIDED PHOTO PAPER ...

Specifically to print on this paper. If the existing one works OK with all other Paper Stock and is only having problems with the Double Sided Glossy which is hard to Handel you may need to look at a better quality Printer for this specific Paper.

I know I work at a place with a very expensive Network printer 50K and they maintain a single unit for single sided Gloss Paper, because it's hard to Pickup the paper from the paper bin.

I haven't seen anyone use the double sided Gloss and wasn't aware it existed but then again I haven't looked for things like that either.
