You can't improve the quality.

How would you expect to do so?

Write to the uploaders and ask for the originals, I guess. If the originals are any better...

"but the quality of the videos is poor quality as on the site"

You cannot improve the quality, if the original quality is poor.

"i would've expected the picture quality to be the same as the video playing on the youtube site.."

This rather contradicts your original statement.

If you meant something different, you need to rephrase your statement.

"I am using the proper codecs and it supports all file formats "

Flash video doesn't use codecs, and I don't know what "it" is. Or you mean the downloader? Don't convert from FLV, the conversion software is probably junk.

oh sorry , meant to say that when i download a video from the Youtube site, the quality of the video is poor...

When i play the videos on the site it is a lot clearer and of good quality...

i have different media players to play videos in all formats so im not quite sure why they are of poor quality

Well, in addition to what HAL says

about the sometimes multiple quality versions of videos hosted, i still suggest that you download and play them in the native FLV format, or convert them after download with better software, if the quality isn't what it is online.

Note that you can always go straight into your browser cache after loading the entire video and pull it out of there.

Edit: Irfanview has a good FLV player in it, and it is a pretty good image viewing app as well.

You Tube has several different File Qualities

by HAL 9000 Moderator In reply to Download from Youtube

Well at least for Professional Video not as likely for Amateur Happy Video Videos submitted to that site so which are you downloading?

Always go for the best quality that is available and while it is bigger and will take longer the quality of the Video is better. This may be of some assistance to you
