Drive Mirroring Mistake

Believing I needed to upgrade two hard drives from “Basic” to “Dynamic” before mirroring them, I created a problem wherein I cannot convert back to basic. Is there anyway to recover and convert a Dynamic drive back to Basic in order to continue mirroring? Is my only solution to delete the volumes and reinsal the OS? What about a third party solution such as Partition Magic? Thank you in advance!!
