Partition the drive into 3 drives.
Me, XP, Data files.

Install Me onto the primary DOS partition (C").
Install XP onto the drive you partitioned for it (D,E), you will be prompted to replace Me, or create a dual boot.

Install any applicationthat you want to use seperatley for each OS.

Use the 3rd drive to store any data files that you want to share between both OS's
Note: for Me to access the data drive, it must be formated in fat16, or fat32.
You can keep Me users from accessing data on the XP drive if you format it for ntsf.

If you don't want to wipe the drive, you can use a partitioning utility such as Partition Magic to change the partition structure on the drive.

That's exactly what I hoped to hear, and has been done now. Thanks.

I hate ME.

Before you encounter much problem using ME, I would suggest you dual-boot using Win98SE and XP instead of using ME.

Which one you put on drive C: will depend on which OS is your primary. If you are going to use XP often, I would suggest you put XP on drive C:, therefore enabling fastest access to files related to XP.

For simplicity, I think you should only FAT (FAT32) for both operating system, enabling access to each drive.

I understand the impatience with Me. Most amchines with it have been failures. But the i8000 likes it.
