Duel Boot NT4 and Windows 98

Sure.
First criterion is that you MUST have your C: drive formatted as FAT16, not FAT32. I generally create about a 2GB partition to hold 98, and format it manually (DOS6 disks are great for this if you have any). Bear in mind that NT4 will HATE aboot partition greater than 4GB anyway. Install 98 FIRST, and preferably on the C: drive you've just created. If you've got your 3 boot disk set for NT, after your 98 install is complete and working, boot off these and install NT. I usually put iton a separate partition, which I create manually - if you want said partition accessible from 98, must be FAT. The reason for the C: drive being FAT is that the actual boot files for NT4 (NTLDR, BOOT.INI and such) will be on the C: drive, wherever you install NT. The OS files may be on E:, wherever.
After completing your NT installation, you will have a 3 item startup menu when you boot:
NT Workstation v4.00
NT Workstation v4.00 (VGA Mode)
Microsoft Windows
The last of these is 98, and can be selected off

Yes, Create two partitions. Install 98 on one and NT one the other. NT should pick up 98 on the boot menu.
If it does not you can edit the boot.ini in the root of the NT partition to add an option to run windows 98 (You may need an NT book to checkthe syntax). Make this partition active and you can then choose which operating system to boot to.
One problem that may come up is that there is no existing boot.ini. If this occurs, go into Startup/shurtdown in control panel - system (in NT) and change the show list for time and select ok. This creates one.

The first answer is correct except that Win98 will run alot better from a FAT32 part. Create three partitions C: about 1GB (FAT16) for Win98 (FAT32) whatever you want, and E: for NT (NTFS or FAT16).

You won't see the NTFS partition in Win98 if it is formatted in NTFS, so you won't be able to use it for storage from Win98.
