I look at my Hotmail account using Outlook Express. All incoming mail is duplicated. If there are 3 new messages my INBOX says there are 3 but I actually recieve 6! If I look at my Hotmail on the web I do not have this problem. I also use OE to manage my email account with Yahoo. This mail is never duplicated. I've heard of this before but what is the cause & cure?

The best way to solve this problem is to delete your Hotmail account in Outlook Express and set it up again. Follow these instructions to remove your Hotmail account:
Open Tools, then Accounts.
Select the Mail Tab.
Highlight the Hotmail account, and press the Remove button.
To re-add your Hotmail account, follow these steps:
Open Tools, then Accounts.
Create an entry for an account as usual using the Add button.
When you specify an address ending in @hotmail.com, OE will recognize it as a Web-based account and give you a number of Web-specific options, including downloading your Hotmail folder structure.
Thanks for your clearly detailed answer. However, I don't think this is the answer as I have several hotmail accounts I view through OE and it does it in all of them. It does not duplicate mail from a Yahoo account I have though!
If you're asking for technical help, please be sure to include all your system info, including operating system, model number, and any other specifics related to the problem. Also please exercise your best judgment when posting in the forums--revealing personal information such as your e-mail address, telephone number, and address is not recommended.
