Duplicate messages with two rules

By rajiv719 ·
I have crteated two rules in OL 2000. The first one moves the message sent to one of my pop account to a folder(say X). The second rule send a message to the same folder X if the subject contains a string ("rmiug" is the string).
The problem is:When I get a message that matches both the rules(i.e a message sent to my POP account and has string 'rmiug' in subject line), I get two copies of it in my folder X.

If one of the rule is deactivated, I dont get duplicate messages (of course onlythe active rule conditions apply) but when both of them are active, I get two copies.

I have checked that I am NOT using 'move a copy'. Also, the order of rules doesn't make a difference. Also, if I create a third rule which says that move the message to this folder 'X' when subject line contains a subset of the string 'rmiug' (just to make a different rule that also matches at the same time), I get THREE messages in my folder 'X'. Unlike outlook express 97, I dont think OL2000 allows to create 'OR' conditions in the same rule.

Any help?

On the first rule, in the box where you select Move to folder, also check off "Stop processing more rules". The second rule will not get processed on this message.

I have already tried "STOP PROCESSING MORE RULES" stops processing rules for all the other messages that are being downloaded at the same time and fall under same two rules and/or other rules and they would have to be filtered manually.
