I had a customer today that has a problem with his Tsstcorp DVD+RW H653F drive playing audio CDs. It reads movie, program and other cds/dvds just fine but when he inserts an audio CD and tries to play it with WMP, ITunes, etc. the first song with play but the rest are skipped.
I’ve tried switching out optical drives but that doesn’t work. I think it’s a software issue, either firmware for the drive or Windows Vista. The customer did advise me that he had a hd failure, reinstalled another hd and reinstall Vista. I’m thinking that there’s corrupt software but I’m not sure what. I’m still searching online for a fix but haven’t found one yet. I’m leaning toward doing a reformat and reinstallation to see if that will fix the problem.
