E-mail cannot be deleted

By smoreland ·
I have a customer with an e-mail with an attachment that he tried to send and apparently the attachment was too large. It is stuck in his outbox and cannot be deleted. What should I tell him to do?

If you're using Outlook, try opening in off-line mode and deleting it. Really need to know what email client you're using to get a grip on the issue.

I do not understand how to open in off-line mode; we use the M/S; Outlook version is 2002 (xp); Our ISP is Road Runner Cable with constant connection and we also have Exchange Server in the mix. I tried disabling the local area connection but then we cannot attach to the Outlook files in order to delete.

Sounds like it must be a POP3 account? This is rather drastic, but it might work. Find his Personal Folder (*.PST) and move it to another folder or rename it. When you open Outlook, it should say it can't find the original file and ask if you want to find it or create a new one. Create a new one, then import everything from the old one into the new one EXCEPT the Outbox.
