E-Mail for Solaris 7

By wstankich ·
Does any anybody know of an e-mail system for Solaris that has most of the features of Outlook for MS. I'm trying to migrate from MS to a full Solaris envirionment. I need something with calendering in it as well as e-mail.
Thanks
Wade Stankich

GNUS/[X]Emacs is very powerful news/mail reader/writer. But you should learn about Lisp first. :)

I prefer mutt, but this is text mode only MUA.

Some body use Netscape Communicator/Mozilla.

I've tested outlook express for solaris (downloadable from ms website). But it crashed loads on our large servers - the GUI hung. You could try it out though if you are running desktops. I think its an identical copy of the Win version, although I didn't use the calendar on it.

Staroffice 5.1 might be of some use to you too if you are migrating.

If you don't mind using two programs you can use the netscape mail interface and dtcm
(the standard CDE desktop calendar program reachable by clicking on the calendar
icon on your desktop). You could also use Netscape's nscal (if you want a similar GUI).
