Email Archiving and Secure Email

By cpmTech ·
My company sometimes receives emails from other businesses that are "secure", meaning they can only be viewed at a third-party website. My CEO wants to block these types of emails and a standard response back to the originating mailserver saying that it's undeliverable and why. Is there a mail-server that can handle this "selective" blacklist?

Hi there

We probably need a little more info from you to help with is...ie what mail server are you running currently? Do you know the email addresses these are coming from? Are they going to a particualr user or to all?

If these emails are going to a specific user or users, you can use the "rules" funtion inside Outlook to accomplish this. If the problem is bigger, then a product like MailMarshall (we use it and its great!) would be a better solution.

Hope some of this helps.

The blocking bit is easy particularly if they are all originating from the same place.

However without knowing what you are using and how big the problem actually is it gets very hard to suggest a way to send a reply telling that the e-mail has been incorrectly delivered.

Most of those automated Reply Messages that you see about underivable E-mail are generated by Apache on a Nix Box but if you are MS only that will be no help to you at all.

Clarification: We're currently running strictly on MS-platform with an older mailserver from True North Software. What we're trying to do is to bounce the message that says "you've got a secure message elsewhere. Click here, etc."
I'm looking for a replacment mailserver that can selectively bounce messages with a reply based on the content of the message.
