Email Compromised / PASSWORD KNOW

By cicle_98 ·
Hey, guys I need some input on this delicate situation. I get junk mail in my inbox lately. There are only two maybe three a day. Today, I decided to look at the properties of one of these emails. I can tell you that one of them actually belongs in my box, well as far as the email address go's. Anyway, the other one, its properties indicated that it really belongs to someone else, but to the same ISP. So, to know how this ISP gives out its defualt passwords, I used the defualt on that email address and it opened up to this persons webmail.
Now guy's, please be knid to me here, this was just a guess to see what would happen. The deal is once I noticed this I exited fast.
Should I email the person and tell her or him that they should really change their defualt password or should I contact the ISP?

Yes, some e-mail systems have a way to get in if
you know the users pets name or mothers maiden
name, using the forgetten password routine and
in you will get. YES above all notify the user
of this fault.

...that you have technically gained illegal access into someone else's mail. You didn't exploit that knowledge, but if the other user is a trigger-happy litigator (professional suer), he could ignore the fact that you're trying to protect his security, and initiate legal action.
