Email form a client is blocked in Exchange!!

By e_canaan ·
Hello Everyone,

A short while ago, we started hosting our own Email server(Exchange 2003). I had called our ISP and got them to point their MX records to our new server.

Everything seem to be fine except that one external client(US goverment related) cannot send email to us. Any email sent to us just doen't come through.

Their IT people think it's on our end.
I didnt find anything in the Queues in Exchange System manager. Is the problem on our Server or our ISP provider.??

Any idea ??
Many thanks!!!

E. Canaan

you can ask them to run
nslookup -q=mx domain.com
on your domain
if it shows the right IP addresses of your mail server(s) then it may be you.

if not, it may be thier DNS or it may be yours
you can always run this against your domain to make sure everything is in order for MX
also check firewall (even if you already did, check again)
and are you recieving mail from other outside sources?

Did it work before your ISP point the MX records to your domain?May be ISP related.
