When I am trying to send emails from my email server I get this notification in journalctl

    Jun 24 19:41:01 zuhairahmad.com sshd[5583]: Invalid user pluto from 104.242.246.34 port 41995

    Jun 24 19:41:01 zuhairahmad.com sshd[5583]: pam_unix(sshd:auth): check pass; user unknown

    Jun 24 19:41:01 zuhairahmad.com sshd[5583]: pam_unix(sshd:auth): authentication failure; logname= uid=0 euid=0 tty=ssh ruser= rhost=104.242.246.34

    Jun 24 19:41:03 zuhairahmad.com sshd[5583]: Failed password for invalid user pluto from 104.242.246.34 port 41995 ssh2

I have used Postfix to set up my server and have worked out that there is something wrong with the permissions involving changing the settings in /etc/pam.d but I’m stumped tbh Any help would be greatly appreciated (using Debian 10 btw if that changes anything)

In reply to Email Server issues

If you have SMTP or Outgoing mail server connection problems, the mail server may be configured incorrectly. If you have problems with POP but not IMAP, webmail uses IMAP only, so again, the mail server setting in your email client may be configured incorrectly.
