Embedded adobe file in a word document

By techrific ·
Hi all, the problem is this......

I have a MSWord document with adobe files embedded, when I try to double click the adobe file windows does try to open it but gives 2 errors.

One says "There was an error opening this document, file does not begin with '%PDF'

and the other says

"This object was created in acroexch"
"The application is not available to open this object"
"make sure it has not been removed, renamed"....yadda yadda yadda and so on

I have been researching this acroexch and it is acrobat exchange ad it seems to me it was designed for a very old version of both windows and adobe.

Does anyone know a fix for this?

I don't know if this works, but I would try selecting the file and saving the selection as a pdf file. then open it from acrobat reader.
