I recently built a new computer for a client, and when I tried to switch the old hard drive into the new system, it refused to boot because the copy of Windows 98 was designed specifically for Dell, and therefore wouldn’t work on the new machine. So I backed up his old hard drive onto the new one (simply copied all the files, including system and hidden files) So, I installed WinMe on the new hard drive (The only OS I had avaialable at the time), and I’ve now installed MSOffice, but I need to copy over my client’s old e-mail settings and the like. However, the pst seems to have become corrupted in the transfer, and the old hard drive has now completely died, so I can’t attempt to re-copy the files. Both the old and the new MSOffice’s are 2k, and I REALLY need to get this working ASAP, so my question is: Am I missing something of the import, or am I doing something wrong, or do I go to a data recovery company?
Please help!
