Why do i xperience emoji failure on facebook & insta? Issue started 4-5 days ago, many emojis are misrepresented, growling face as a plane, smiley face as heart, tired face as an animal, champagne glass as a flag. List goes on like forever. I use a Sony Xperia XZ2. Plz help!
update: One of my friends has had the same issue with a galaxy s7. Turned out he had a worm on his phone: https://www.sophos.com/en/threat-center/threat-analyses/viruses-and-spyware/Albania.aspx. Apparently it lays a filter or “veil” on the social media apps to read your personal information and interests but when the apps update and if they change the back-end encryption and decryption of emojis etc. the “veil” wont be able to follow the old encryption method 1:1 and it will reveal it’s presence. Also his phone was drained for battery while he had the worm, and so is mine. I better scan it now…
