    encrypted files
I have a computer that had some pictures moved around and now, it comes up and ask for a password.
I go into Outlook 2003 and try attach a picture to the email and in the browes box it says,
    “Document Manager Encrypted Files”.
I select that and then the picture and it says enter, “pass-phase password”.
    ANy ideas.

A bit more information wouldn’t hurt here.

Is this system on a Domain other Network or a Stand Alone System?

If it’s on a Network of some kind are the files stored locally or remotely? That means are the affected files stored on the computer or a network share.

If they are on a network share do you have the correct permissions to get access to them?

If they are stored locally do you have the correct permissions set to allow you access or if you set this up did you tick use Password to access personal files?

You are most likely using HP’s Credential Manager (a free built-in security utility). If you know the passphrase used in this utility, enter it. If not, simply uninstall the application to bypass the problem. You can re-install the program and try again if you prefer using it from your HP Software/Driver CD or usually on your C: Drive under a folder called SWSetup. Good luck – hope that helps.
