encryption software for onedrive allowing individual file restoring

    by vzahrnt ·

    Hello!
I am looking for a replacement for boxcryptor and after browsing for an hour and trying out two solutions (VeryCrypt and cryptomator), I am still lost. What I need is a software that allows me to restore individual files e.g. if I have deleted them erroneously (rather than having to restore the entire folder). Ideally free or not very expensive – for private use.
    Many thanks! Val

      Hello,

If you are looking for a file encryption software that allows you to restore individual files, you may want to consider using a backup and recovery software in combination with your encryption software.

For example, you can use a backup software like Acronis or Carbonite to regularly back up your encrypted files to an external drive or cloud storage. Then, if you accidentally delete a file, you can use the backup software to restore just that file, rather than having to restore the entire encrypted folder.

Alternatively, you can look for encryption software that supports versioning or file history. This feature allows you to recover earlier versions of a file, even if it has been modified or deleted. Some popular options for file encryption software with versioning support include Tresorit and SpiderOak.

It is important to note that encryption software alone cannot guarantee the restoration of individual files. It is always recommended to regularly back up important files and folders to ensure that they can be easily recovered in case of accidental deletion or other issues.
