Error 0x80040707-Dll Function call crashed

When installing a software I get an Error 0x80040707 and the following message Dll Function call crashed: Register.RemovAllInf
I tried running the registry mechanic but it did not help.Please advice on how to remove this error. I am trying to install the S-Media Biz Card Organizer.
