I have been trying to install Win98 SE on a newly formatted HD. Once I run setup from CD it runs through scandisk it goes to the DOS screen and “checks the system registry” & “copying files needed for setup” then blanks out and gives me “error loading user.exe”. I’ve tried two different windows CDs with the same result. Could it possibly be hardware? Bad startup disks? I can’t find any info. on this problem. Please help!
