Error message in Eudora with Norton 2004

Norton Internet Security 2004, and now, whenever Eudora is opened, it comes up with “COM authentication is not enabled, would you like to enable it?” When yes is clicked, it says that Eudora must be re-started. Closing Eudora and re-opening brings up the exact same error message. I have looked through all of the settings in Eudora, and searched the help files, and can find no reference to “COM authentication”. I was also not able to find any reference to this at Eudora’s or Symantec’s sites.
