Error opening pdf document

I am trying to open an Adobe Acrobat 4.0 .pdf document but getting an error message “error opening document, could not repair file” from one PC. However, when trying to open the same document from another PC the document opens fine. Other smaller types of pdf documents open fine on every PC. I have tried recreating the document several times using both the distiller and writer. I have also already tried reinstalling Adobe and making the file paging size larger, did not work. Any suggestions?
