error opening some applications

i'm using windows XP and after installing some application if i try to open that again
that aplication displays a message........

"microsoft visual C++ runtime library"

most commonly for Windows media player classic and for antiviruses.

please provide some assistance.

its occuring even after installing fresh OS.

If not, please provide the full text.

At a guess, it could be you need to install the runtime library, so download from Microsoft and install to see if that resolves the issue.

Another possibility is this:
which may be the more likely culprit. Again, just guessing since we have so little information to work with.

try installing service pack 3 if you haven't

"installed fresh OS" - was that a FULL format and reinstall? - that error message reminds me of something a virus would throw in your face upon attempting to open programs such as anti-virus software. you could try an anti-virus boot disc, avg has one or you could try hirens boot cd or UBCD (could try one of the harddrive utilities to fully erase the drive) all free

i tried by formatting the entire drive even though a error msg pops up like this

"runtime error!
-floating point supoort not loded"
