    Locked

“cannot initialize rich text support”. I’ve installed & reinstalled, rebooted, etc. I can not open the Palm Pilot software on my desktop. Any suggestions are helpful. Thanks. Laura

Have you deleted the Palm directory on the C: drive. Sometime clearing that out can fix a number of problems. At the sametime reset the Palm to the factory settings.

      Part One:
To completely remove Palm? software from your computer, including the Palm? Desktop and HotSync? Manager from your computer, you will first want to back up the user data. Then run a normal uninstall, delete the Palm folder, perform a search for ?palm? and ?hotsync? and delete the results, and finally remove the Palm software entries in the Windows Registry.

After Restarting, reinstall a clean copy of palm desktop. You should be fine. Unless you have left something out in you question.
