i have what you would think would be a simple question. Where can an IT manager look to for guidance when he wants to establish IT policies and procedures? I’ll explain.
I work for a non-profit homeless shelter which is growing by leaps and bounds, hence so is their support staff and the pc enviroment. However, they have never had an IT department before, right now im a one man department, and don’t have any policies regarding quality assurance, handling calls, internet policies, securitypolicies etc… Now obviously I can come up with policies but I would rather use some sort of guideline(s) rather than just “shooting from the hip” so-to-speak.
