Eureka ! I have an idea !!
LockedOK don’t be too scared.
Regarding the screwup in the points arena.
For thoe of you who haven’t noticed yet, in an attempt to encourage people to close questions, TR has changed the points system. The only problem is, you end up with mroe points than the person who answers the question.
I see several working resolutions;
1) Posting a question COSTS one thousand points, regardless of the question value. When you close the question, you reclaim ALL but the allocated points to the correct answer. If people just sign on to ask a question and then just go away, they will eventually come back for more help. At this time, they won’t have enough to POST a new question until closing the previous.
OK, it’s not perfect but better.2) The person asking the question assigns a point value to the question and has 1000 points held aside until he closes the question. Similar to the above, but with an ADDITIONAL 1000 points held as a deposit until the question is closed.
Doesn’t take too much code, they are already using similar scripts to allocate the points abck to the peer.
