event id 2 Chassis intrusion detected

By jsarinana ·
I'm getting the following error in my event viewer:
event id: 2
Chassis intrusion detected. This typically does NOT indicate a hardware failure.
1. Contact your Help Desk if you did not personally open your chassis.
2. Enter System Setup & Set Chassis Intrusion to 'Clear'.
Any one know how to set Chassis intrusion to clear ? and what this means ? the user did add a Compaq ipaq 3835 PDA to this machine.

Most likely this PC has an "alarm" that goes off when the cover is removed. You need to go into the bios setup when you boot and clear it. To go into the bios setup, yo typically press F2 or F10 when prompted after booting up, before the operating system comes up. In the bios settings look for security settings, or possibly something under advanced settings, depending on the manufacturer.
