One of my clients has a Windows 2000 Pro machine, which is used primarily for scanning with their new Epson 1680 Expression. Upon my first few weeks with this client, and their staff, everything was functioning peachy. Then, apparently during a weekend, the self-appointed IT person installed Service Pack 3 to all computers in the office. Which is fine, but…
Now when you press the green “start” button on the scanner and the ‘event on device’ window comes up – it is empty. Even though the OS recognizes the scanner, and shows in the setup that other applications are aware of it as well. Any idea how to resolve this? (the scanner has been completely removed, twice – for good measure, and this issue still comes up).
The scanner works fine from within any applicatin that will talk to it. The only reason the client has made it an issue, is because the rest of the technically challenged staff practically depends on that button. 🙂
I will re-write the documentation and re-train, but I would like to know what that function ceased to work properly – and how to fix it.
Thank you.
