Excel 2000 print preview lockup

Out of the blue, my computer locks up every time I try a print preview in Excel. Control/Alt/Delete gives me a Resources Dangerously Low warning (which really can’t be true, even the resource meter doesn’t see it) and all I can do is reboot.
I’ve tried everything, assuming its Excel. Or is it a printer related issue?
