Excel 2003 and Excel 2007 Compatability

    Locked

    by ruthbbraun ·

I am running Excel 2003 alongside Excel 2007. I would like the Excel 2003 to be the default version that opens xls files when I double-click on them. Right now, Excel 2007 tries to open them. How can I fix this? My e-mail is ruthbbraun@gmail.com. Thank you.

      1. Open a folder such as my computer or explorer
      2. Select tools and then folder options
      3. Select the file types tab
      4. In the registered filetypes box find .xls
      5. Change the details of the file to open in the correct program (You may need to browse to the correct EXCEL.EXE in program files)

      Hope this helps

to remove your email address. Web crawlers will undoubtedly find it and you will be assaulted with more SPAM than you thought could exist.

You can allow peer mail by enabling the ‘allow members to contact me’ option in your TR profile.

Differing versions of MS Office Suite products do not play well together. If mamies suggestion does not work for you, perhaps someone will have a registry tweak.

Outside of that, Office products vie for control, even over other Office products. There is not a whole lot that can be done.
